Based on 135 reviewsChito's Restaurant & Cafe by Sideway Grill in Lipa City is widely praised for its nostalgic, vintage ambiance that evokes the charm of old colonial Philippines, featuring distinctive architectural elements like capiz windows and hardwood interiors. Guests appreciate the spacious and well-ventilated premises, including a convenient parking area and options for al fresco dining. The Filipino cuisine receives high marks for authentic flavors and generous portions, with specialties such as chopsuey and chili garlic daing na bangus standing out. Service is noted for its friendliness and attentiveness, contributing to a welcoming, homely atmosphere. Some feedback suggests that a few dishes tend to be overly sweet, and there is a desire for waitstaff attire to better complement the restaurant's classic vibe.
I love the ambiance of this place! It’s giving me a vintage vibes. They also serves good food. My favorite is their chopsuey! I wish their servants or waitresses wear something that fits with the ambiance of the place.
We ordered a lot! Most of the dishes are good, especially this chili garlic daing na bangus! Even the cafe serves good coffee!
Chito's in Lipa City is a very accessible spot to enjoy coffee and meals. Has a parking lot at front and a spacious back area for those who want to have their meals al fresco. We swung by for a quick coffee and beverages and the staff is more than willing to assist you. The vibe is very much like that of the bygone turn of the century Philippines.
4.5 stars ⭐ Ambiance is for those trying to get a glimpse of the past: old colonial style architecture, capiz windows, hard wood everywhere. Servers were friendly and always on the lookout for your needs. Food menu is expansive. Price is very reasonable, for the serving size you get. A bit of a downer though is the sweetness in almost all the dishes we ordered (perhaps a little too much added sugar for our taste). Still good value for money if you're on town for Filipino food with great ambiance.
For Filipinos, taste of food is number 1 priority. However,on this restaurant, not only the taste of food is the BEST the classic ambiance and well ventilated, satisfying,on time service, make you feel you are really "at home". It exceeds my ecpectation and became the benchmark of next restaurant that I will visit.
We had our Mother's Day lunch here. The place is quaint and exudes a charm of bygone years. The place is quiet even if there are many guests thus good for conversations. The food is excellent. The quantity is adequate to be shared. You get value for your money. We ordered the Pinoy Sushi(best seller), chop suey, Chito's fried chicken(best seller) and sinigang sa miso. The fish used is a provincial specialty. We also had leche flan for dessert. I don't recommend coming here if you are hungry. Serving the food took a long time. They compensated by giving us a free pitcher of cucumber lemonade. The waiters are prompt in attending to your requests. They are courteous and helpful in recommending their best sellers. We will come back because we haven't tried the rest of the house specials. Some were already out of stock because of the high demand. And we will repeat ordering the Pinoy Sushi. It's really very good. The idea of making the smoked fish(timapa) a filling for the sushi(though I think maki is the better term to call it) and the dressing they used. It's really wow.
Loveeeee this place! Very reasonable price for the quality of the food. We got a family combo that satisfied everyone's cravings. I devoured the crispy pata. Its so good and crispy. And the soy sauce adds more flavor. I highly recommend this place if you'll ever go to Lipa Batangas. The place is a bit small but its well maintained and you'll have tons of options. Will definitely go back in this place!
